It is frustrating to hear or read about individuals or families in our community struggling, particularly when they are having to live in unsuitable places because of a lack of affordable housing. Many groups have been discussing for a long time how to remedy the situation. It is frustrating when we know Jesus did not wait for government officials or rich and powerful individuals to provide what was needed by the least, the last, and the lost. He stretched out his own hands, blessed the afflicted, and provided them with what they needed.
This is why First United Methodist Church of Neenah/Menasha (FUMC) is partnering with the Neenah/Menasha Emergency Society, and Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity to help build a home for a family in need. A lot on which this future Habitat home will be built has been identified in the Winnebago Heights neighborhood in Neenah. FUMC and the Neenah/Menasha Emergency Society are trying to raise $40,000 to go towards this project. Anything you can do to help this effort will be greatly appreciated.
We, like Jesus, can help one soul or one family at a time, and we can do it now. We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus in this world. He knew this was hard work, better done together.
FUMC and the Neenah/Menasha Emergency Society hope that you will join us in caring for our neighbors and expanding the options for affordable housing in our community.
