The Habitat ReStore is a unique
building materials retail outlet that enables you to buy the supplies you
need for those home renovation, remodeling and decorating chores at a fraction of the cost.
We collect used, excess and
overstocked building materials that are still useful and sell them to you at
exceptionally low prices. All profits go directly to the Greater Fox Cities Area
Habitat for Humanity. You'll be saving significant money, getting
excellent materials and supplies while supporting affordable housing for
lower income families.

What does the Habitat
ReStore accept?
Acceptable new, used and surplus home improvement items
- Appliances: less than 8 years old and in working condition
- Cabinets: clean and in working condition
- Furniture: wood, leather, and upholstered, clean and in good condition
- Flooring: wood, ceramic tile, vinyl
- Electrical: current parts and supplies
- Plumbing: fittings, current parts and supplies
- Windows: insulated/"E" glass, seals intact
- Hardware: hinges, locks, nails, cabinet pulls, nuts, bolts, screws
- Lumber: at least 4' in length, nail free
- Roofing: 1 bundle of shingles minimum
- Carpet and Carpet Padding: new, in pieces 30 square feet or larger
- Paint, Stain and Varnish: full cans, no oil-based paint
- Tools: hand, garden, and power tools
- Lawn & Garden Equipment: in working condition
- Other building materials: masonry, sheathing and drywall (minimum 4' x 4'), insulation, unused ductwork
- Miscellaneous: slat board, pegboard, storage cabinets, display units

We do not accept:

- single pane or broken windows
- hollow core doors and storm doors
- shower doors
- mattresses and box springs
- used carpet
- inoperable appliances
- lead-based paint or materials containing lead-based paint*
- toxic materials or items containing asbestos*
- window coverings
- automotive parts or accessories

* Due to environmental regulations, we are not able to accept these and similar items - and Habitat for Humanity must pay for their disposal when dropped off at the ReStore without our consent.

Volunteer Opportunities |
The Habitat ReStore couldn't exist without the help of volunteers! Volunteers are needed for a variety of areas, and typically work one (or more if possible!) 3 - 4 hour shift per week. Deconstruction work is available on an "on-call" basis.

| Warehouse |
- Prepare, stock, and display donated materials
- Price materials
- Maintain clean and safe working environment
- Assist in loading customer purchases
- Work with Sales and with Pickup as needed

| Sales and Cashier |
- Greet customers in a friendly and helpful manner
- Answer the telephone
- Assist customers in locating and loading materials
- Coordinate with Warehouse to keep shelves stocked
- Operate cash register

| Pickup |
- Collect donations
- Quality control responsibility
- Load, secure, transport, and unload donations
- Maintain loading area
|
| Office Help |
- Computer data entry
- Correspondence - letters of request/thank-yous
- Telephone work
- Marketing and media assistance
|
| Deconstruction (flexible, "on-call" opportunity) |
- Remove reusable material including wood floors, cabinets, doors, etc.
- Load and unload truck
