The Almost Home program was formed by a partnership between Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity and Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin. Program Coordinator Jessica Patenaude provides real case management services to families by helping people qualify for and retain ownership of their Habitat homes and help struggling families become applicants in the Habitat program.
Almost Home addresses the needs of prospective homeowners whose Habitat applications have been denied because of a lack of sufficient employment or financial stability and assists existing Habitat homeowners who are struggling to make their monthly mortgage payments. This program can be seen as a stepping stone in the housing continuim as well as a safe guard to keep families moving in the right direction on that continuim.
The program is funded through the Basic Needs and Giving Partnership supported by the U.S. Oil Open Fund for Basic Needs within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the J. J. Keller Foundation, Inc.
