As a Christian housing ministry Habitat for Humanity maintains a unique relationship with churches and members of congregations. In many ways we serve as an extension of the Church – meeting in tangible ways the real needs of men, women, and children in our community. Many congregations support the work of Fox Cities Habitat through prayer, volunteering to help build homes, providing support through tithing or mission funds, and house sponsorship.
Congregations that partner with Fox Cities Habitat generally find their involvement:
We encourage all faith based groups to help us via regular monthly financial gifts but are more than pleased to receive seasonal gifts like a Christmas Eve offering.
There are numerous ways for groups within your organization to become involved with a Habitat project including fundraising, participation in ceremonies and making or gathering house warming gifts for their Habitat family (e.g. bed quilts for each family member).
Faith-based communities and coalitions of faith-based organizations sponsor homes by providing a combination of direct funding, in-kind donations of materials and services, and volunteer labor.
On occasion, a group (coalition) of congregations join together to build a home in the greater Fox Cities area. A given coalition might build a house every two or three years.
If you think your congregation would like to help Habitat in anyways, please contact Jodi Isom (920) 967-8882.
